June 13 Bird Walk – 9am – Join us on a guided bird walk with park staff to practice bird identification, explore Bannack’s bird habitat, and learn from fellow birders. Open to all bird enthusiasts of any skills level.
June 20 Paint at Bannack – 1pm – 3pm – Learn how to paint with Sarah Hansen, a Montana native who has been enjoying their art journey for 15+ years. All are welcome to join in on this fun afternoon! Limited spots available. Must pre-register here.
June 20 Live Music with Nick Spear – 6pm – 8pm – From Kalispell, Nick Spear uses his talents to weave an intricate tapestry of storytelling. Nick’s songs have been featured on television’s A&E and Lifetime networks, and on stage at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
June 27 Beaverhead Rock State Park Guided Hike – 9am – 12pm – Join us for a guided hike to learn the history of our beloved Beaverhead County landmark! Limited spaces available.
July 4 Live Music with Tammie Jones – 6pm – A long-time friend of the park Tammie has been entertaining people at Bannack for many years. Original and classic tunes sure to get the toe tapping.
July 18-19 Bannack Days – Join us in celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Bannack Days full of fun, food, music, and other pioneer activities. A Montana tradition since 1976.
July 25 Guided Hike – 9am – Join us on this guided hike to explore the community named Marysville that was situated east of the Bannack townsite.
August 8 Clark’s Lookout State Park Orienteering Activity – 9am – 11am – Join us for a junior ranger program to take a view from Captain William Clark’s infamous Beaverhead Valley vantage point, learning how to use a compass.
August 22 Kid’s Day – 12pm – 4pm – Activities for kids and for anyone that is a kid at heart. Lewis & Clark exhibit with Steve Moorhouse, Gold Panning, Doll Making, and more.
August 29 The Macabre: The Unusual – 8pm – 10pm - Stories from the Darkside. These are not ghost stories but stories from the history of Bannack that focus on the darker episodes of life and death. Registration is required. Tickets can be purchased here.
September 12 Night Photography – 8pm – 12am – New moon open photography session. Open to all skill levels of photographers to take photos of the buildings with the night sky. Registration is required. Tickets can be purchased here.
September 26 National Public Lands Day – 9am – 3pm – An opportunity to help park staff with a park trail maintenance project and enjoy the beautiful Bannack landscape.
October 10 Night Photography – 8pm – 12am – New moon open photography session. Open to all skill levels of photographers to take photos of the buildings with the night sky. Registration is required.
October 23-24 Ghost Walk – A guided walk at night, with a narrator and light bearers, through the ghost town. True chilling and ghoulish events that took place in Bannack’s past are reenacted. Must reserve tickets in advance. Tickets go on sale in September and can be purchased here.
Wreath Walk 2026 - Dates Coming Soon - Please join us in bringing some old-fashioned Christmas fun to Bannack. Local organizations are asked to decorate a wreath depicting the theme of your group to be hung on a door at the park.
Annual Dinner 2026 - Dates Coming Soon - The Annual Dinner takes place every January and includes a social gathering, happy hour, live music, silent auction, and dinner.
